It's called Yahweh, I know you are near. Unfortunately, due to not being able to use the word Yahweh anymore, you won't be hearing it sung anymore at Masses...:(
I have a favorite song from long time ago that we use to sing at the folk mass. It was based on Psalm 139. It started out "Where can I run from You, Lord? If I climb to the heavens You are there. . . Does anyone out there have the lyrics/music. It was very special to me and I can only remember part of it. Thanks
I've been trying to find the name and sheet music for a song that was sung in our Church in the late 80s or early 90s. I don't remember the name, artist, or verses. I only remember the refrain and the melody of that refrain. The words of the refrain go something like this:
I don't know what your tears are for,
but Mama, please don't cry.
Please don't let the pain decide
that in your womb, this baby must die.
'Cause this baby should live.
Oh, Mama, I want to live!

Hi,
Lift Up Your Hands to God - I think is the title of the song. This song is my favourite too when I was young.
I can't remember the full song but I remember this phrases...
"Come to me all of you who are tired of carrying heavy loads....
Come to me and I will give you rest"
Try googling the title.
God bless.

I heard at song at mass a long time ago unfortunatley the only part i remember is "carry me beyond my wants..." it kept repeating carry me but i can not remember the name of the song or any other lyrics......Does anyone know what song is stuck in my head?
Wow! This song really IS different. I love the way it was written, with the angel and unborn children singing back and forth. And how beautiful it is! This prolife song is definitely one of the best ever written, if not THE best!
I love John Schlitt's song, "The Grafting". This beautiful ballad talks about an open adoption chosen
by a caring, sensitive young woman and the reunion she has with the young man when he grows up and thanks her for giving him to a couple who loved him and helped him grow up.
you song divine mercy in my soul
that the story of my conversion
him in the bright light
anyway his song to us saying any soul no matter how bad the sinner
will be heailed in his divine mercy
Beautiful and breathtaking! I don't think anyone can watch this music video without crying (in a good way). It's a really creative way (voices singing back and forth) of bringing out the voice of the unborn about life in this world and in heaven.

We sang this song as well in Primary 6. P6 was the choir and P7 students were part of the play called "The Man from Galillee." This was one of the songs and I've been unable to find any more on it or even the play itself :(
We sing this in our stations of the cross, but I think its from a musical, possibly called 'Man from Gallilee' ? It continues:
With nails through his hands and a wound on his side,
With a crown made of thorns on his head,
No hatred he bore for the people below.
“Forgive them, dear Father,” he said.T
The light on the earth faded quickly away,
As an army of clouds hit the sun.
The wind beat the air and the rain lashed the ground,
In anger at what had been done.

Jesus Christ is marvelleous. He has the power to heal one's heart. By adoring him with one's true heart, one can feel his presence and it feels so good, that one can feel at peace, able to face life's difficulties with a smile. His strength is ours.

Curse Of Blood --- I just heard this amazing pro-life song by A.W.E. band called "Curse of Blood." Powerful powerful song .. really struck a chord in my heart!!! ... was this song referenced on Hannity? I don't think it's hit the radio yet... http://www.aweband.com/lyrics-lyrics-a-previews/curse-of-blood I read the band's notes on this, and it was actually based on Sarah Palin's son Trig... pretty neat stuff. Check it out!
Greetings!
Recently I posted the All Saints' Song List to my new podcast, "The Souls in Purgatory Project" website (www.soulsproject.com). This is a new podcast dedicated to promoting prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
By the way, I wanted to say thank you to Nick Alexander and everyone involved in TopCatholicSongs. This is an excellent way to help promote Catholic music, but especially the Message in the Music.
God bless!
During Eucharistic Adoration on the shore of the Sea of Galilee a few weeks ago....I was thanking and praising God for such an awesome sight.... such a blessing to be on this pilgrimage..... but much more.... our priest talked about freedom..... and it hit me more deeply than ever.... the depth of sacrifice Jesus gave and endured for MY FREEDOM!!! Hallelujah.... My Father....for giving us Your Son!!! In Christ....annie karto
We used to sing that song at primary school. I was searching for the words in Google when I came across this website. Unfortunately I don't know the name of the song.
I just want to ask if you know the title of the songs with the lyrics:
Mary Queen of Angels and the stars above the light to shine our way from the darkness of the night
Mary you're the one to whom we give our hearts
Teach us to pray and to speak our parts
You're the queen of the universe
you're the shoulder of all creatures of the world
You're the woman of all the earth
oh loving mother pray for us
Nick,
Thanks for including my song, "When He Calls" in this list. That song was written almost 2 years ago to the day. My Aunt Nita, mom's last remaining sister, died 2 years ago Monday. I sang at her funeral, along with our cousin's husband, Troy McManus. Well, 2 weeks after her funeral, Troy passed away. The night he died, I guess the death of my aunt was so fresh that I was overwhelmed with grief and questions. I started playing my guitar and was practicing "Go Rest High On That...
Did you click on the Mary link? Therein contains all our Marian entries, including our own Top Ten list...

Hi
I enjoyed myself at the San Diego Witness conference. I was passed the CD Witness and the song that touched me was Father We Stand. At the conference the booklet didn't have any lyrics in it. Is it possible that you could provide the lyrics for me? Thanks and God Bless
I understand why you would be upset, I know that the theme song plays a big part in the whole conference; but this year, kids didn't like it very much. The audience was more receptive to the other songs and didn't really care for the theme this year, in fact, they even have that question on their survey. It's something along the line of "did you like the theme song this year?". I answered no, I didn't like it as much as All Access or Unchanging, those songs got the 'love for God' feeling...
I went To Steubenville East 1 and was disappointed because Witness, This year's theme song was played about 2 times over the entire span and one was on the 1st day.
It is a beautiful song.
You can download it from iTunes here in Australia.
You can also download it from WYD official site

& the album can be purchased from the WYD stores.

It is indeed a beautiful song - written by Guy with his friend Gary Pinto. Both Guy and Gary have been writing music for their respective churches since their teens.
I just checked the WYD site and can't immediately see it. Hmm. It's been available there since July 1 last year. Let me know...
Very converting and inspiring song. I really feel the healing power of God. How could I share this music video with my friends who really needs guidance of the Holy Spirit.
This is a nice discovered Matt Maher you are right is a good example of how the Lord change you mind when you believe in him and is I nice connection of how we can change the church. What a beautiful voice of Kith Getty singing Speak, O Lord as we come to you the I like the combination of the ideas that Stuart Townerd had when the create this song I can imagine how will be life if we only listen to his voice some time is very hard to be obedience to the World of God thank you for charring this...
Let the Fire Fall is currently not in iTunes. I believe that you can get it off of "Come Worship the Lord vol 1"--John Michael Talbot with the Brothers and Sisters of Charity--and while this is still in print, you may have to find a copy of it using froogle.com . (It's also off the OOP Steubenville Project III, the Holy Is the Lord volumes, and Lift Up Your Voice, where it debuted). Hope this helps...

Glad to keep seeing these Top 10 Charts. I posted this one right under the picture of Pope Benedict XVI on our parish's website (www.peterandpaulchurch.com) and on the Catholic Music Express website (www.catholicmusicexpress.com). Post them on your sites, too!
I have a lovely Divine Mercy song that tells the story of Divine Mercy. This composition was chosen as the theme song for a special devotional Mary Our Mother Foundation CD project involving The National Shrine of the Divine Mercy. To hear this song, log on to my musical's website, The Wonders of His Love, click the poster and go to the AUDIO page, scroll to the bottom, and click "complete" under My Divine Mercy. Hope you like it!
I have a really unique pro life song. It's a conversation between an angel and unborn children. The angel tells the children about God and earth. The children want to see the world, and they want to know about reaching heaven. Hope you like the song! Here's the website, which features the composition as a music video:
www.WeWantToSeeTheWorld.com
Thanks!
We sang it at school but I can only remember the first verse...
A tree stands alone upon Calvery Hill
As a witness in ages to come
Of darkness, despair and of one who must die
The Saviour, The Almighty's Son.
Dear Nick,
Thanks so much for posting an 'exceptional list' of Divine Mercy Songs. They are all so varied, yet speak to the theme of this Feast. Thanks again!
Nancy
I just bought your i-mix on i-tunes. I really like the mix, esp, Dan Schutte's "Holy Darkness" and "Glory in the Cross". Thanks for your choices..

I can still hear in my heart the songs of the May processions from my parish in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn - St. Mark's (circa mid-50s). Just the memory of the fragrant carnation bouquets, each with it's colored ribbons to match our pastel Easter dresses or gowns. The garland of flowers headpiece with those same matching ribbons and silvery glitter. The line up - we looked lovely. We really did - two by two we marched: the pinks, yellows, blues, and in later years - mints and lavenders. The...
I remember seeing something from Zenit.org saying that the lyrics "Saved a wretch like me" are not a reflection of Catholic Teaching on the condition of our souls. Don't remember much more about it. Maybe you could search their archives if you feel so moved.
As for the Gender neutral language, If we understand that "man" means all of humanity, there should be no problem leaving it where it is. We have several people in our parish, including the cantor, who insist on the gender neutral even in...
> What's that song which starts off as " a tree stands alone upon Calvary hill..."?
Are you thinking of "The Old Rugged Cross"?
On a hill, far away,
stood an old rugged cross
the emblem of suffering and shame...
If not, I'm not sure.

Another great Steve Taylor song is Baby Doe from the Meltdown album. Steve is my favorite songwriter and greatly influences the lyrics in the Critical Mass albums. I also have interviewed this artist and he has great respect for Catholics and the Catholic church. Just FYI...

"THIS IS MY BODY," written by Dana, is a favorite pro-life song of many. It was an honor for me to sing on the recording and video with Dana and Mark Girardin, who sang the part of Jesus. The song was written at Fr. Frank Pavone's (Priests for Life) urging. He saw how the words "This Is My Body" were used both by the pro-abortionists regarding power over the body, even to the point of killing another, AND by Jesus Christ, exemplifying perfect sacrifice of the body so that others may live. This...
I've written a Mass setting, got it approved by the USCCB, several psalm settings, and a couple years of gospel acclamation verses. Looking for a place to publish my works.
As a Catholic songwriter and singer myself, I want to contribute to the community and receive info on how to promote good Catholic songs to a wide audiences.
I am Catholic and a piano teacher. The Catholic Church has the most beautiful treasury of hymns.
I want my students to study hymns. Also, I want to memorize the words of some of the hymns that are in Latin and having access to the sheet music will help with that. Thank you.
I'm a music director at a Cathedral and a composer. I would love to hear other composers, music, ideas, etc. Additionally, I'd like to share my own music.
I am searching for a hymn sung on line in Canada - when I am confined to home and watch mass. I am a piano player for many years and would like to find the musical score.
I have written and recorded about 70 songs over the last two decades that are posted on my YouTube channel - Ronald St Martin songs. I would like to share them with a larger audience. Thank you and God bless your work Ron St Martin
I am a Catechist that believes that religious song is the prayer of the angels, that lifts the soul. What better way to get a child to feel the present of God's peace
I am a practicing Roman Catholic always trying to increase my faith and holiness. I like Christian music particularly prefer Catholic Christian when I am driving or at home completing tasks.
I have been a minister of music for almost 40 years, and I am, primarily, an ear-trained pianist/composer. I am hoping that, becoming a member, I will be able to find sheet music (mostly, lead sheets, if available), that also contain the guitar chords, as I, typically, see them, and then, improvise, accordingly.
I am a resident organist and singer, also training choirs. I very much would appreciate learning more contemporary music to help integrate a wider and more diverse congregation. Thank you.
Need to replace copyrighted music on my YouTube Rosary channel (https://www.youtube.com/@mryan510) to stop the constant interruptions with ads. Perusing your site affords me with plenty of ad free solutions. I hope to donate to your site when I make my selections.
