I think the lyrics go: when the rain rushes down and the earth blossoms forth and the wind caresses every tree, I can hear the turtle dove singing all throughout the land of the fair young virgin Mary. I don't remember the title, though.
Is it like this?
LIFT UP YOUR HANDS TO GOD - (Singer - Basil Valdez)
Life is not all that bad, my friend, hmmm
If you believe in yourself
If you believe there's Someone
Who walks through life without you
You'll never be alone
Just learn to reach out,
And open your heart
Lift up your hands to God,
And He'll show you the way.
And He said, "Cast your burdens upon Me
Those who are heavily laden,
Come to Me, all of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads,
For the yoke I will give...

Hello, my question is this. I'm looking for the lyrics to this one song and I know the title called "queen of heaven" I don't know who wrote it but I sang it in college. It start off going " queen of heaven blessed may thou be for godes son Bourne hewas of thee" I really like it but I don't see anyone actually singing it and I believe it is a catholic song. Why is that?
I am looking for a song that was sung at my wedding day to the Blessed Mother.
I thought it was called the Magnificant. However when I see the verses they don't look right. Here is part of the song
As the rain rushes down and the earth blossums forth I can hear all throughout the land of the fair young virgin mary.
I could have missed a few words.
You Are Near
Yahweh, I know you are near,
standing always at my side.
You guard me from the foe,
and you lead me in ways everlasting.
Lord, you have searched my heart,
and you know when I sit and when I stand.
Your hand is upon me protecting me from death,
keeping me from harm.
Where can I run from Your love?
If I climb to the heavens You are there;
If I fly to the sunrise or sail beyond the sea,
still I'd find You there.
You know my heart and its ways,
you who formed me before I was born...
Since we are listing Catholic songs, the list should include music that could actually be used at Mass. Two extremely obvious choices are David Haas' "We Choose Life" and "Before I Was Born." Both songs are scriptural, well-written and they are available through GIA Publications in Chicago. I have used them for every Respect Life liturgy for the past decade.
We used to sing that in church when I was a child and it always comforted me so much. In my memory the second line was "in all my afflictions, I hasten to thee". Hope this helps. The closest I could find is this:
O Mary, My Mother So TenderO Mary, my Mother so tender, so sweet, In all my afflictions, I run to thy feet; Thy heart is so gentle, so loving, so mild, Thou canst not reject thy poor suppliant child.
O holy Mary, let me come, Soon to be happy with thee in thy home. O Mary, my Mother, I...
I have Divine Mercy songs and a Divine Mercy Mass that for the past two years have been performed on EWTN at Stockbridge MA at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy on the Feast of Divine Mercy as well as a Faustina Musical. Hi.
I'm searching for a recording of AS THE RAIN RUSHES DOWN. This is a version of the Magnificat and I do have the lyrics but have forgotten the tune. If anyone can send me an MP3 or a link to where I can hear it, I'd be so grateful. I want to teach it to our choir. Thanks! Happy Easter!

My favorite two pro-life songs are Blue Eyes Like Janeys by David Huff and Lucy by Skillet.
Blue Eyes Like Janey's:
We were so young, and only playin' around.
I was ready for adventure, not for settling down.
So when Janey told me she was pregnant, and that she wanted to be my wife,
I said, "Wait a minute Janey. We're only seventeen.
We're just starting out our young lives.
Let's keep our heads together, girl.
Let's look at all of the options."
But we both knew what the choices were:

I'm not a cantor but I love to make a joy-filled noise to the Lord ... I listen to Gospel music quite a bit ... and find it most uplifting. A long time ago I learned from my Mom that we were not created wretches and so learned the alternate words and sang (maybe "croaned" would be a more illustrative and entirely made up alternative) them to my children and now to my granddaughter. My children are now both cantors (LOL) so I guess the alternative words did them no harm ... but I agree the...
I am looking for a country song, probably at least 8-10 years old or more. It was written by a female country artist, and a male country singer was so taken that either he asked her or he added a second verse. The original was sung as if Mary singing, wondering if she had known would she have said yes. The added verse by the male artist was song from Joseph's perspective.
I know it's not Breath of Heaven, but it had some words similar to breath on me, of breath of God or something like...
One of my favorite Mary songs is commonly known at the Scottish Magnficant. It's very singable by the gathered community, or in the quiet of vespers of eucharistic adoration. I found one clip on YouTube (not the best recording, but it's the love that counts!)

i don't know what is the title of this song because i just listened it on the radio...
here's the lyrics:
Maria, oh most beautiful one
we honor you today , to you we've come to pray
Oh Maria, oh beautiful one
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.
It's called "You Are Near" by Dan Schutte in our OCP Music Issue and I just sang it this past Sunday :) but you're right, the word "Yahweh" has been replaced with "O Lord".
Refrain:
O Lord, I know you are near,
standing always at my side.
You guard me from the foe,
and you lead me in ways everlasting.

We are already into our second week of Advent, with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception before us, as well as the Solemnity of Our Lady of Guadalupe. And Christmas is merely weeks away.
One of my favorite "Mary" songs has always been "Holy Is His Name" by John Michael Talbot. It was always my Dad and Mother-in-law's favorite song that I would sing. What beautiful words by our blessed Mother! You can listen to it here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/i-am-the-bread-of-life/id336918470?i=336918534&ign-mpt=uo%3D4

Its good read magazines which has interesting and full details. Like me, as a reader, really like to read that content that gives me more information, especially to the topics that I’m interested with.
It's called Yahweh, I know you are near. Unfortunately, due to not being able to use the word Yahweh anymore, you won't be hearing it sung anymore at Masses...:(
I have a favorite song from long time ago that we use to sing at the folk mass. It was based on Psalm 139. It started out "Where can I run from You, Lord? If I climb to the heavens You are there. . . Does anyone out there have the lyrics/music. It was very special to me and I can only remember part of it. Thanks
I've been trying to find the name and sheet music for a song that was sung in our Church in the late 80s or early 90s. I don't remember the name, artist, or verses. I only remember the refrain and the melody of that refrain. The words of the refrain go something like this:
I don't know what your tears are for,
but Mama, please don't cry.
Please don't let the pain decide
that in your womb, this baby must die.
'Cause this baby should live.
Oh, Mama, I want to live!

Hi,
Lift Up Your Hands to God - I think is the title of the song. This song is my favourite too when I was young.
I can't remember the full song but I remember this phrases...
"Come to me all of you who are tired of carrying heavy loads....
Come to me and I will give you rest"
Try googling the title.
God bless.

I heard at song at mass a long time ago unfortunatley the only part i remember is "carry me beyond my wants..." it kept repeating carry me but i can not remember the name of the song or any other lyrics......Does anyone know what song is stuck in my head?
Wow! This song really IS different. I love the way it was written, with the angel and unborn children singing back and forth. And how beautiful it is! This prolife song is definitely one of the best ever written, if not THE best!
I love John Schlitt's song, "The Grafting". This beautiful ballad talks about an open adoption chosen
by a caring, sensitive young woman and the reunion she has with the young man when he grows up and thanks her for giving him to a couple who loved him and helped him grow up.
you song divine mercy in my soul
that the story of my conversion
him in the bright light
anyway his song to us saying any soul no matter how bad the sinner
will be heailed in his divine mercy
Beautiful and breathtaking! I don't think anyone can watch this music video without crying (in a good way). It's a really creative way (voices singing back and forth) of bringing out the voice of the unborn about life in this world and in heaven.

We sang this song as well in Primary 6. P6 was the choir and P7 students were part of the play called "The Man from Galillee." This was one of the songs and I've been unable to find any more on it or even the play itself :(
We sing this in our stations of the cross, but I think its from a musical, possibly called 'Man from Gallilee' ? It continues:
With nails through his hands and a wound on his side,
With a crown made of thorns on his head,
No hatred he bore for the people below.
“Forgive them, dear Father,” he said.T
The light on the earth faded quickly away,
As an army of clouds hit the sun.
The wind beat the air and the rain lashed the ground,
In anger at what had been done.

Jesus Christ is marvelleous. He has the power to heal one's heart. By adoring him with one's true heart, one can feel his presence and it feels so good, that one can feel at peace, able to face life's difficulties with a smile. His strength is ours.

Curse Of Blood --- I just heard this amazing pro-life song by A.W.E. band called "Curse of Blood." Powerful powerful song .. really struck a chord in my heart!!! ... was this song referenced on Hannity? I don't think it's hit the radio yet... http://www.aweband.com/lyrics-lyrics-a-previews/curse-of-blood I read the band's notes on this, and it was actually based on Sarah Palin's son Trig... pretty neat stuff. Check it out!
Greetings!
Recently I posted the All Saints' Song List to my new podcast, "The Souls in Purgatory Project" website (www.soulsproject.com). This is a new podcast dedicated to promoting prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
By the way, I wanted to say thank you to Nick Alexander and everyone involved in TopCatholicSongs. This is an excellent way to help promote Catholic music, but especially the Message in the Music.
God bless!
During Eucharistic Adoration on the shore of the Sea of Galilee a few weeks ago....I was thanking and praising God for such an awesome sight.... such a blessing to be on this pilgrimage..... but much more.... our priest talked about freedom..... and it hit me more deeply than ever.... the depth of sacrifice Jesus gave and endured for MY FREEDOM!!! Hallelujah.... My Father....for giving us Your Son!!! In Christ....annie karto
We used to sing that song at primary school. I was searching for the words in Google when I came across this website. Unfortunately I don't know the name of the song.
I just want to ask if you know the title of the songs with the lyrics:
Mary Queen of Angels and the stars above the light to shine our way from the darkness of the night
Mary you're the one to whom we give our hearts
Teach us to pray and to speak our parts
You're the queen of the universe
you're the shoulder of all creatures of the world
You're the woman of all the earth
oh loving mother pray for us
Nick,
Thanks for including my song, "When He Calls" in this list. That song was written almost 2 years ago to the day. My Aunt Nita, mom's last remaining sister, died 2 years ago Monday. I sang at her funeral, along with our cousin's husband, Troy McManus. Well, 2 weeks after her funeral, Troy passed away. The night he died, I guess the death of my aunt was so fresh that I was overwhelmed with grief and questions. I started playing my guitar and was practicing "Go Rest High On That...
I've written a Mass setting, got it approved by the USCCB, several psalm settings, and a couple years of gospel acclamation verses. Looking for a place to publish my works.
As a Catholic songwriter and singer myself, I want to contribute to the community and receive info on how to promote good Catholic songs to a wide audiences.
I am Catholic and a piano teacher. The Catholic Church has the most beautiful treasury of hymns.
I want my students to study hymns. Also, I want to memorize the words of some of the hymns that are in Latin and having access to the sheet music will help with that. Thank you.
I'm a music director at a Cathedral and a composer. I would love to hear other composers, music, ideas, etc. Additionally, I'd like to share my own music.
I am searching for a hymn sung on line in Canada - when I am confined to home and watch mass. I am a piano player for many years and would like to find the musical score.
I have written and recorded about 70 songs over the last two decades that are posted on my YouTube channel - Ronald St Martin songs. I would like to share them with a larger audience. Thank you and God bless your work Ron St Martin
I am a Catechist that believes that religious song is the prayer of the angels, that lifts the soul. What better way to get a child to feel the present of God's peace
I am a practicing Roman Catholic always trying to increase my faith and holiness. I like Christian music particularly prefer Catholic Christian when I am driving or at home completing tasks.
I have been a minister of music for almost 40 years, and I am, primarily, an ear-trained pianist/composer. I am hoping that, becoming a member, I will be able to find sheet music (mostly, lead sheets, if available), that also contain the guitar chords, as I, typically, see them, and then, improvise, accordingly.
I am a resident organist and singer, also training choirs. I very much would appreciate learning more contemporary music to help integrate a wider and more diverse congregation. Thank you.
