O Night Of This Closing Age

You delight in us living in your will
contemplating you being still
We delight in the works you will
In doing them, we are fulfilled
1 ) O night of this closing age
disturbed confusion of the world
The dawn appears, the sky grows pale
disperse and go, for Christ comes forth.
2 )Evil knows its time is short
With all cunning tries to deceive
That all is well & we’re in control
And to demonize our human foes

3) with so much lost and hard to restore
And the growing threat of nuclear war
The evil one stokes our fears
Lord, we trust in you with all our hearts
4) The veil of darkness fades away, by the coming of the Son
Glorious colors come to sight - beauty from his face divine
5) Just so the darkness of our lives - and hearts aware of veiled deceit before the reign of God laid bare, - as clouds are rent by light

6) In knowing you alone, O Christ,
with pure and honest mind and heart,
we learn to pray wholeheartedly
coming to you with joy and praise.
7)Look deeply now into our hearts, - examine closely our whole life,
where much is tainted by deceit -Lord, cleanse and purge it by your light

With so much suffering and Pain
With many hearts of hope drained
Help us become beacons of hope
Lord, following you and your Pope
8)Help us to persevere - To the end with holy joy
And to love and help each other - As you love each one of us
9)O Jesus to you, our God and King, - and to the Father, glory be,
One with the Spirit-Paraclete - from age to age forevermore.
