Have Faith- A new song from the Barbados based group, Color

Today we celebrated the launch of our latest song, Have Faith.

Have Faith, crosses into a new musical genre for Color, and departs from our usual acoustic guitar sound. Instead of recording live instruments, our vocals are accompanied by an original track created for the song, in GarageBand, using a variety of loops.

Have Faith advocates a positive, faith-based outlook in times of trouble, and features the Lord’s Prayer.  The song itself is in the form of a conversation taking place among different groups of people. To help bring the story to life, we have created a visual story available for free download from our website, in a visual, comic-book style format.

it's our wish that this song will convey hope in times of distress, and remind us not to give up under heavy burdens.

Relentless

This song is an original composition that expresses the love that God has for us... it is relentless, never giving up, always persuing.

The voice and guitar in this may sound familiar... the composer and singer, Michelle Sambrano is the leader of the Sing Psalms Project and has been posting responsorial psalms each week.  She is also a very active member of Color, another of the music ministry groups located at the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary, St John, Barbados.

We hope that you will enjoy listening to Relentless.  Original song by Color, music composed by Michelle Sambrano

Battle Song! Prayer to St Michael the Archangel

Original song by Color, music composed for the Prayer to St Michael.

A Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity

When the Bishop of Bridgetown was appointed Archbishop of Port of Spain there was a desire to give him a gift of prayer.  That desire inspired this prayer and song...Most Holy Trinity.  That was back in 2017...it has taken us this long to be able to record and release the prayer publicly.  We hope that it will be part of your prayer on Trinity Sunday.

Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity
Father, into Your hands, I commend my spirit, I surrender my heart,
I relinquish my will
And Father, I abandon myself, I come, to be sculpted,
let Your will be done in me
Father, I entrust you with my doubts, I cast all my cares,
You are my refuge and strength

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
Praise, glory and honour, our hope, our salvation, blessed Trinity

Jesus, Your body fills my hungry soul, Your blood quenches my inner thirst
You’ve lived to die for all my sins
Jesus, have mercy on my transgressions, accept my tears of repentance
Renew my strength to bear my cross
And Jesus, Lamb of God, You are my Shepherd, with You no evil do I fear
Blest be the power of Your name

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Praise and glory and honour, our hope, our salvation, blessed Trinity

Holy Spirit, I invite your presence here, I welcome all your gifts
I pledge to use them all in service
Holy Spirit, bring me wisdom and enlight’nment, anoint my lips to speak Your word
Open my eyes to seek Your truth
And Holy Spirit, dwell in me, Kindle Your flame in my heart, fill me with love and compassion
Breathe new life in me

Amen

Prayer to the Holy Spirit by St Augustine set to music

One of the members of Color music ministry has composed music for the Prayer to the Holy Spirit.  The recording is a peaceful and meditative version of this prayer in song.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Breathe in me O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.
Act in me O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.
Draw my heart O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy.
Strengthen me O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.
Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.
Amen

Prayer to Jesus (St John Vianney's prayer set to music)

Some years ago someone asked if I could set St John Vianney's Prayer to Jesus to music.  I had never seen this prayer before but once I did it resonated immediately.  What an absolutely beautiful love song to Jesus!  Color Music Minstry recorded and recently released the song online via our Contemplative Worship Podcast, SoundCloud and YouTube and it will soon be available for streaming on all major platforms.

St John Vianney’s Prayer to Jesus
"I love You, O my God, My only desire
is to love You until the last breath of my life.
I love You, O my infinitely lovable God,
and I would rather die loving You,
than live without loving You.

I love You, Lord
and the only grace
I ask is to love You eternally.
My God, if my tongue can't say
in every moment that I love You,
I want my heart to repeat it
to You as often as I draw breath."

A Caribbean Rosary

The group COLOR, located in Barbados, has recently recorded a fully sung Rosary.  The mysteries are being released each week in October.  It is hoped that the music will support devotion to the Rosary and assist persons in improving their prayer life. Each mystery is approximately 1 hour long and is available free of charge.  Listen here  or via SoundCloud.
