Rising Leader Series by Tom Mohr completed

Note from editor Richard Schletty: Tom Mohr has been in leadership roles almost continuously since 1980. Tom's "Rising Leader Series" includes reflections on faith and leadership, coupled with recordings of his own original songs of faith. Read Tom's bio here. Below is an excerpt from a letter Tom sent to me today.

Dear Richard,

As you know, I have been publishing throughout this year a weekly letter, sent to 50,000 churches throughout North America. Each letter has a letter, poem, and link to the song for that month. I have called this series The Rising Leader Series.

I am now turning in earnest to the work of promoting my music and seeking out performing opportunities – especially for my Rising Leader Series message.

Here are the links to 52 letters for the Rising Leader Series:

Q1: Who is God?
Week 1: Abba Father
Week 2: Creator God
Week 3: Connected in Space
Week 4: Connected in Time
Week 5: Pluralism ...

Responsorial Psalm 23(24):1-6 for the 4th Sunday in Advent Year A - Let The Lord Enter! He Is The King Of Glory

MP3 Music Playlist:

Responsorial Psalm 23(24):1-6 for the 4th Suday in Advent Year A

Let the Lord enter! He is the king of glory.

The Lord’s is the earth and its fullness,
the world and all its peoples.
It is he who set it on the seas;
on the waters he made it firm.

Let the Lord enter! He is the king of glory.

Who shall climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who shall stand in his holy place?
The man with clean hands and pure heart,
who desires not worthless things.

Let the Lord enter! He is the king of glory.

He shall receive blessings from the Lord
and reward from the God who saves him.
Such are the men who seek him,
seek the face of the God of Jacob.

Let the Lord enter! He is the king of glory.

The Christmas Song, Mel Torme 1945

"The Christmas Song" sometimes titled "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" or, as it was originally subtitled, "Merry Christmas to You" is a classic Christmas song written in 1945 by Robert Wells and Mel Torme.

According to Torme, the song was written in July during a blistering hot summer. In an effort to "stay cool by thinking cool", the most-performed Christmas song was born. "I saw a spiral pad on his (Wells's) piano with four lines written in pencil", Torme recalled. "They started, 'Chestnuts roasting..., Jack Frost nipping..., Yuletide carols..., Folks dressed up like Eskimos.' Bob didn't think he was writing a song lyric. He said he thought if he could immerse himself in winter he could cool off. Forty minutes later that song was written. I wrote all the music and some of the lyrics."

The Nat King Cole Trio first recorded the song in June 1946.

Dedicated to all beautiful peoples of our world!
Peace and Joy is my wish for all!!!

Responsorial Psalm 145(146):6-10 for the 3rd Sunday in Advent, Year A - Come, Lord, And Save Us

MP3 Music Playlist:

Responsorial Psalm 145(146):6-10 for the 3rd Sunday of Advent Year A

Come, Lord, and save us.

It is the Lord who keeps faith for ever,
who is just to those who are oppressed.
It is He who gives bread to the hungry,
the Lord, who sets prisoners free,

Come, Lord, and save us.

It is the Lord who gives sight to the blind,
who raises up those who are bowed down,
the Lord, who protects the stranger
and upholds the widow and orphan.

Come, Lord, and save us.

It is the Lord who loves the just
but thwarts the path of the wicked.
The Lord will reign for ever,
Zion’s God, from age to age.

Come, Lord, and save us.

MP3 Music Playlist:

Responsorial Psalm 97(98):1-4 for the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Sing a new song to the Lord for He has worked wonders.

Sing a new song to the Lord
for He has worked wonders.
His right hand and His holy arm
have brought salvation.

Sing a new song to the Lord for He has worked wonders.

The Lord has made known His salvation;
has shown His justice to the nations.
He has remembered His truth and love
for the house of Israel.

Sing a new song to the Lord for He has worked wonders.

All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth,
ring out your joy.

Sing a new song to the Lord for He has worked wonders.

MP3 Music Playlist:

Responsorial Psalm 71(72):1-2,7-8,12-13,17 for the 2nd Sunday in Advent, Year A

In His days justice shall flourish, and peace till the moon fails.

O God, give Your judgement to the king,
to a king’s son Your justice,
that He may judge your people in justice
and your poor in right judgement.

In His days justice shall flourish, and peace till the moon fails.

In His days justice shall flourish
and peace till the moon fails.
He shall rule from sea to sea,
from the Great River to earth’s bounds.

In His days justice shall flourish, and peace till the moon fails.

For He shall save the poor when they cry
and the needy who are helpless.
He will have pity on the weak
and save the lives of the poor.

In His days justice shall flourish, and peace till the moon fails.

May His name be blessed for ever
and endure like the sun.
Every tribe shall be blessed in Him,
all nations bless His name.

In His days justice shall flourish, and peace till the moon fails.
