The Intended Listening order for the Tracks on SharePoint. MTR

There are now 13 Tracks on my SharePoint site.  11 from A Cup of Cold Water, and two Bonus Tracks from my derivitive work Ambient  Seashore.  They are designed to take you on a Spiritual Journey if you listen to them in the right order.  That order is:

1. Baptism Song

2. Ambient Seashore

3. Trinity

4. Meditation II

5. Communion Song

6. Song for Thomas

7. All my Trials

8. Prayer of St. John Paul the Great

9. River of Life

10. Morning of the Last Day

11. Take Five

The other two Tracks, with my acccompanying partner, Bill Hughes - Tenor, are Freebies taken from my Derivative work Ambient Seashore, which is intended to be of the Genre Christian Contemporary (it has all of the strictly Catholic Tracks removed so as not to scare away the Christians) are Roll Down the Ages & I Am the Vine. Those two Tracks are special because I lost them for a time, and my curious oldest son found them among the hard drives of our outdated Gateway computers with P5 166 MHz Pentium processors in them that refuse to die.  In any event consider them as Dessert.  I am including with this Post a PDF of the Info & Lyrics from A Cup of Cold Water to remind you of why you're willing to spend an hour or more (depending on the Download Rate of your Internet Connection.  I truly hope you enjoy listening to these Tracks the way they sounded on my SONY PROs when I recorded them.  MTR Read Full Story >>>

I have WAV files encoded from the original WAV files I obtained when I was recording A Cup of Cold Water in my Studio at Resch Engineering, Inc. in Lincoln, NE during the Fall of 1998.  I would like to Share them with anyone who is interested in hearing my Tracks with Astonishing Clarity which are not Available for Download either on TCS or on my Bandcamp site.  Richard claims that the iTune app can handle this file type.  If you already have the iTune app for your operating system, or are interested in Downloading another Free app like Goldwave which runs on Windows natively, or on OSX with the help of a ShareWare app that you can also Download for Free on the Web (Google: Goldwave for MACImportant Note: You must be registered as a member of Top Catholic Songs to perform this next Procedure.  Click on the following Bitlink: bit.ly/MTRuserTCS and send me a private message containing your First & Last names and your Microsoft Account Email address (if you don't have a Microsoft Account you must obtain one to be able to Login to SharePoint).  I will then arrange for you to be Emailed an Invitation to Login using your Microsoft Account from my ReschEngineeringInc.SharePoint site for you to be a Visitor on my site with Read-only Download privileges so that you can Download any or all of my 13 Tracks with the above mentioned features by Right-Clicking the Sound File and choosing Download.  I offer you this opportunity because I am somewhat of an Audiophile who is Turned-on by the sound of Music as good as it sounded to me when I was recording it.  I am including with this Post a PDF of the Info & Lyrics to A Cup of Cold Water so that you will have something to read while you are Downloading files which have a size of around 100 MBytes each.  MTR

Psalm 23: The Lord Is My Shepherd - Guimont

The Lord Is My Shepherd -- Psalm 23. Music by Michel Guimont, The Revised Grail Psalms (c) 2010 Conception Abbey and The Grail, administered by GIA Publications. I am practicing on my porch with little Bella listening. For the verse, I sing a melody I adapted for my baritone voice. Michel's melody was too high for me.

Refrain: The LORD is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

The LORD is my shepherd;
there is nothing I shall want.
Fresh and green are the pastures
where he gives me repose.
Near restful waters he leads me;
he revives my...  Read Full Story >>>

A Home Run Tweet MTR

This is an example of what I call a Home Run Tweet.  It has Four distinctive purposes:

  1. It Promotes TCS and Invites guests of mine to Explore
  2. It Promotes my Personal Web Site: bit.ly/MTRsPlace
  3. It Promotes my Personal Blog: bit.ly/MTRsBlog
  4. It Promotes my Album A Cup of Cold Water bit.ly/MTRsAlbum

It also shows how Powerful Twitter is as a Tool.  Think about it: Getting a Twitter Account is as easy as Creating an Account on Top Catholic Songs.  And it puts you in contact with about 250 million people who you can spread the Gospel Message to.  MTR

A Little Experiment MTR

  1. It's time for a little experiment in making my Info & Lyrics to A Cup of Cold Water more accessible to the average Follower on Twitter.  It's also time to make my Biography more accessible.  I'm going to attach two PDF files to this Blog Post and see how it looks.
  2. Looks pretty good.  I think I'll quit while I'm ahead.
  3. More Later . . . MTR

And so it Begins MTR

  1. So many things to do when joining a new site.  Since I promote my Album, A Cup of Cold Water mainly on Twitter the first order of business is to design a new Bitlink to use in my Promotional Tweets to point to TopCatholicSongs.com.  I think I'll use: bit.ly/MTRonTopCathSongs for a starter.  It's a little long and might get truncated in the Tweet, but it gets the message across.
  2. Next I'll post it on bit.ly/MTRsPlace with an under construction message beside it.  This is my Personal Website for all things MTR.
  3. I stayed up all last night Re-Engineering my .wav files for the Album on Bandcamp.  There were some serious flaws on the old set I uploaded in November when I started that site.  Now that it's the best I can make it, the Album is ready to be Embedded in this site.  I used some software I Downloaded on the 'Net with a try-before-you-lease option, it's called "GoldWave".  You can Google for it.  The lease is only $15/year with free updates.  It's a very full-featured software suite of wave editing tools.  I highly recommend it.
  4. Well next I have to go upload a small correction to one of the tracks.  My vocal was being drowned out by my GR-9 Guitar Synthesizer sound, so I had to re-equalize it after I heard it on Bandcamp to make the vocal stand out by a few dB's.
  5. More later . . . MTR

Shallow Flow by Schletty (with help from Miller)

A collaboration with Jack Miller, this is my baseline acoustic rendition which I sent to Jack. He will provide further input on lyrics, and will contribute instrumental additions and perhaps vocal harmony. We'll see how the song shapes up!

Shallow Flow

Jimmy has shiny new wheels
Wants to feel what everyone feels
Keeps all his stuff real tidy
Trouble is he has a mighty

Such a shallow flow
There's a river deep
That he ought to know

He goes around from bar to café

World Peace Prayer (Haugen, Anderson)

"World Peace Prayer" by Marty Haugen and Marc Anderson

REFRAIN: Lead us from death to life, from falsehood to truth, from despair to hope, from fear to trust. Lead us from hatred to love, from war to peace. Let peace fill our hearts, let peace fill our world, let peace fill our universe.

Still all the angry cries, still all the angry guns. Still now your people die, earth's sons and daughters. Let justice roll, let mercy pour down, come and teach us...  Read Full Story >>>

Covered

A collaboration between Richard Schletty and Jack Miller. The lyrics are Jack's poem "Covered" (inspired by a terrible nightmare). The guitar track was recorded by Jack in a separate "moment" with his Zoom H2 digital recorder (with no intention of marrying his poem to his guitar track). I took it upon myself to crisp up Jack's guitar track and overlay my baritone register, singing his words in a free-form manner.

It covers me
