Psalm 65: The Seed that Falls on Good Ground (Guimont 2010)

Practicing the responsorial for this weekend, I was accompanied by chirping birds and my cousin Steve on weed whacker. A new percussionist for St. Matt's!

Psalm 65: The Seed that Falls on Good Ground Will Yield a Fruitful Harvest. Responsorial Psalm for the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time / A. Psalm Tone #27. Ps. 65:10abcd, 10e--11, 12-13, 14 / 103. Text: Verses, The Revised Grail Psalms, © 2010, Conception Abbey and The Grail, admin. by GIA Publications, Inc.; refrain, Lectionary for Mass, © 1969, 1981, 1997, ICEL. Music: Michel Guimont, © 1994, GIA Publications, Inc.

Refrain: The seed that falls on good ground will yield a fruitful harvest.

1. You visit the earth, give it water; you fill it with riches. God's ever-flowing river brims over to prepare the grain.

2. And thus you provide for the earth: you drench its furrows; you level it, soften it with showers; you bless its growth.

3. You crown the year with your bounty. Abundance flows in your pathways; in pastures of the desert it flows. The hills are girded with joy.

4. The meadows clothed with flocks. The valleys are decked with wheat. They shout for joy; yes, they sing!
